This was easy to assemble, just make sure you pay attention to the steps and what side is what. I love the texture and the look with a little splash of gold. The only problem I have is that the electrical outlet that came with the bed does not work. I have sent a message to the seller but never heard anything back from them. Not to happy about that. The storage space underneath the bed is amazing though
First off - This bed is gorgeous. I’m SO pleased with my purchase so far. I’ve only used it for one night, so if anything changes I’ll update this review, but if you don’t see an update from me it’s because my opinion has not changed.
The fabric is quite nice. It’s very soft and the color is beautiful. The decorative golden metal strips down the side are really pretty, but I will say that the manufacturing leaves a bit to be desired there. That said, they’re still beautiful accent pieces and overall I’m happy.
The storage is wonderful. Everything you put down there stays on the ground, and the sides are almost floor length. There is maybe a centimeter gap between the sides and the ground so dust bunnies and fur if you have pets will get down there. If you don’t like that, I think you can easily modify the bed by adding some kind of blockage on the inner lining. Personally, I don’t mind this. There’s a ton of storage space; it’s perfect for my current home.
Putting it together was actually quite easy for me. I did it alone no problem. I suppose it’s a bit tedious just cause of the task at hand, but that really should just be expected when you’re putting something g like this together. The box it comes in is HEAVY. If you are not able bodied, I highly recommend friends or family to help. If you are able bodied and moderately strong (I’m a very petite lil lady), take a deep breath and drag that sucker inside or straight up unbox it where it is and bring the pieces in. If you need to get up stairs, I warn you now that this will be very difficult to do on your own. I think that would even be difficult with two people. It’s worth it though, and getting the box in will be the hardest part of the process.
The bed is fairly heavy to open once you have your mattress on, but it’s really not bad. The mechanism kicks in and assists you. It will lock in place when it’s fully open but be careful cause when it shuts it SHUTS. It could very easily cause an injury if it were to close on your body in any way. I think the manufacturer should consider adding a safety arm, like the ones you use when you open the front hood of your car, at the base of the bed. I think this could easily be DIYed if you’re concerned about it. With the limited reviews, it’s hard to say how long the mechanism might be good for.
Hopefully I didn’t scare anyone, the bed is truly amazing. It’s a perfect alternative to the frames with drawers. I will never go back to those flimsy things.
